“Imagine for a minute that RSS has replaced all traditional methods of internet information retrieval for you, save search. How many RSS feeds would that total? For an average web surfer, I would suspect about 100. For a power user, 500 (this assumed every single bit of information on the internet were available via RSS).” rss scaling issues?
i’m definantly not in the 500+ rss feeds, but i’m slowly getting there. most of the sites i visit have an rss feed, there are a handful that i still actually type the full url in, but for the most part most of my surfing is done using sage from inside firefox. out of all the various rss extensions for firefox, sage was the least annoying. actually sage isn’t annoying at all, but some of the others are pretty retarded.
i do wish i could just pull the latest news items rather than looking at items as part of their parent site. i’ve also wondered just how much traffic can be generated by rss feeds alone?
hugh is thinking of writting a book. definantly going to have to keep tabs on this, i’m literally fascinated by his artwork sometimes. it’s pretty chaotic and i think i’d go insane trying to draw in a similar style. my little doodles are small, precise, and while they look chaotic there is a very defined structure to them. too bad no one hands me buisness cards. maybe i should just draw on bottle caps or something?
