i was trying to figure out how to manage a blogroll that was populated with favicons. i didn’t see any groups over at flickr that had to do with favicons, but i did stumble across a nice repository of them at deltatangobravo. i also realized i need to update my favicon with a border or something, it just doesn’t look right.
i’m not sure about how copywrite and trademark would be handled over on flickr as far as posting/collecting the favicons from your favorite sites. plus the favicons aren’t technically pictures so you would just be using flickr as an image host.
i tend to do that already though. bonq.net is practically void of self hosted images. i used to write perl scripts that would spew out image galleries, i used to write php + libgd scripts that would create thumbnails on the fly. there’s faults to both of those. i’ve just found it easier to use flickr to host all of my images whether they be pictures or just images.
because of things like the flickr.badge and blog this, i’m thinking there really isn’t a limit to the amount of hotlinking traffic you’re allowed to have.
eh, i’m still gonna build my own blogroll with favicons. gotta give prop’s to the people i steal shit from read on pretty much a daily basis.
