you wouldn’t think that the toolbar icons are all that important, but it is rather hard to post when the whole post box disappears. i’m not sure which plugin is causing the issue, i just went in and disabled another one and the box is back. for the most part wordpress 2.5 is a nice upgrade but as with any upgrade there’s gonna be bugs.

atleast most of them have just involved turning off plugins at this point. i think i figured out where the code might be having issues (#) but i don’t have any time to look at it right now. the activate/deactivate shuffle will have to do for now.

hrm. it figures i’d have issues with my wp-admin on post #666. right now none of the tinymce icons are rendering, so i get a bunch of ‘alt’ tags… it’s really messing up the layout of the page… booo.  and i lost my writeup on compiling evolution from svn.  sweet.

i’m poking through the ubuntu launchpad right now. i came across bug #31766 which is “Dapper: Total starvation of GUI apps during heavy disk usage“… it looks like i need to change the linux scheduler that gets called from grub at boot time. it is really annoying to start up a vmware image and then pidgin goes completely blank. or if beagle or some other file i/o intensive app kicks off, same issues… windows stop getting re-drawn and i have to wait for things to settle down. boo.
