mythbuntu/nxclient ssh keys

June 23rd, 2008

i never did write a grumble post about the debian ssl exploit (great explanation of the issue and some motivational posters) and i’m still finding issues because of the new keys. the lastest issue i was trying to debug why i wasn’t able to connect to one of my boxes via nxclient. checking around in the logs i saw, “Offending key in /usr/NX/home/nx/.ssh/known_hosts”… simple enough.

after looking at that file and comparing it to /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key and /etc/ssh/ssh_host_rsa_key.broken i drop in the new keys and nxclient connects just fine. i would also recommend regenerating your personal keys if you use an authorized_keys[2] file

nokia 770

nokia770

the nokia 770 won’t work as a cell phone. it however runs debian, maemo, and nokia is pushing open development for it. it’ll be interesting to see how this will compete with the lifedrive that palm announced a little while ago. mobile burn has a preview of the 770 on their site, and i kind of agree with engadget that the 3 hour battery life that it supposedly has… does infact suck.

apparently there’s a big need to have all the data you’ve ever aquired instantly accessable at your fingertips. you could always just carry around 100gb portable drive with you, but it doesn’t have a screen for you to watch pron on.

i wish more companies would produce products like the oqo so prices for handheld personal convergence devices would drop.
