osx: mythtv frontend

December 26th, 2007

after looking at the mythtv wiki for mac osx, it seems like it would just be easier to roll up a small virtualized mythbuntu frontend instead of installing all the development libraries and configuring a myth environment. or i should just go order a mediamvp instead and see how an $80 mythtv frontend works.

wii as a mythtv front end?

December 17th, 2007

hrm. it might be possible to use wii as a mythtv front end via streaming video from mythweb.

I’m also expanding it a bit as I found the default Flash conversion settings gave really bad quality. For my purposes(wireless LAN to Wii player attached to PC) I’d rather have better quality. I’m thinking of making a second tweak that gives 3 encoding options, high quality, medium quality, and low quality to handle my 3 needs(local network, internet, and cell phone)

0o0o0o0oh….. look what i found! mythwiife.

MythWiiFE is my effort to create a MythTV frontend for Nintendo’s Wii game console. Mythweb makes a great starting point, with only a few things missing. Namely, I would like some sort of live TV support, and have made a little progress in that direction.

i have a feeling this will come in handy… nintendo wii flash video parameters. wiili might produce a viable linux boot solution that doesn’t require voiding the warranty, who knows… they bounty is @ $133.82.
