check this out, this post is now the highest dugg post on digg. [ as of 10:25 est ] it’s gonna be scary to see all the people getting jacked in a few months once these come out.
jason kottke posted up a cardboard mockup of the iphone compared to various other devices. the only think i really have to complain about when i look at the specs is the fact that you’re limited to 4gb or 8gb. i’m not sure if the iphone uses harddrives or flash, but toshiba has a tiny 100gb harddrive. ( the iphone uses flash memory. atleast you won’t break a harddrive when you’re bound to drop it. )
Up to 5 hours of talk time depends on network configuration. Up to 16 hours of battery life refers to music playback. Up to 5 hours of battery life is based on H.264 1.5-Mbps video at 640-by-480 resolution combined with 128-Kbps audio.
i’m curious what the standby time is going to be. they just mention the various playback times in the specs and those really aren’t anything to write home about. then again watching a movie on your phone on a cross country flight might make more sense than using a laptop. (unless you have < 15″ screen)
