i was seriously considering replacing launchy with dash. it’s not opensource, and it does cost $20, but it has some nice plugins. honestly i wish quicksilver would start doing linux and windows clients already. macos only? booo. check that video out if you’re curious what you can do with dash or what a quicksilver replacement for windows looks like. just don’t expect to get that level of functionality from the trial though. lijit/del.icio.us tag search

July 24th, 2007

hrm. i was hoping that when i added del.icio.us to my content on lijit that it would allow me to search through my del.icio.us tags. yeah, nope. atleast not yet. checking out the del.icio.us api it allows you access to the following methods :

  • Update – Check to see when a user last posted an item.
  • Tags – Get a list of tags, rename them.
  • Posts – Get a list of posts, add, delete.
  • Bundles – Get bundles, create and delete.

hrm. nothing about searching. there is a del.icio.us tag search which allows you to add up to 7 tags and 1 username to search. searching del.icio.us isn’t that hard but i really do want an all in one search solution. i think i am going to keep playing with lijit, although right now the stats you can gather on there are more impressive than the actual search.

and i really need to clean up my del.icio.us tags.

2 lijit 2 quit.

heh. when else can you use a title like that? i just setup a lijit search bar at the bottom, gonna be playing with it for awhile. there’s something scary ( orwellian ) about being able to search all your social media sites at once. it can also be a very powerful tool to have search results from multiple trusted/tagged sources.
