hrm. on the mythtv mailing list there are almost 4,000 hits for ‘tivo‘ (newest first). it doesn’t look like the tivo-mplayer mythtv plugin has been updated since mythtv v 0.19. i’m not too concerned with grabbing shows off the tivo, at this point i think a hdhr is probably my best bet for capturing video for right now. sure it won’t do my digital hd channels, but neither does my tivo series 2.
poking around a little bit, it mythtivo might work with mythtv 0.19+… something else to eventually get around to. although i’d LOVE to just get rid of the tivo at this point. $13 a month for tivo fees vs $20 a year for schedules direct. also if i’m going to bother hacking any hardware at this point, ppc is definantly not something i want to waste my time with. i already ditched my old ibook because if concerns of when future support for ppc will be phazed out.
